Angelica Osorio
“My greatest satisfaction is providing good customer service.” Angelica Osorio has participated in the Mercado since April 2019. She prepares chocomiles, a well known snack among the Mercado community and in fairs throughout Mexico.
With the help of her grandmother and father, 11-year-old Angelica, began selling chocomiles at festivals in Mexico in reformed Putla, Oaxaca where she was born. Her day began at 10AM selling Tortas (mexican sandwiches) and chocomiles until 4pm. Since then, she developed a career as an entrepreneur and successfully managed her own chocomile stand for 10 years in Mexico.
“What I like about having a business is being able to serve people and make sure they leave satisfied.”
Given her experience and love for serving customers, Angelica’s hope is to have her own business in the United States. She says, “What I like about having a business is being able to serve people and make sure they leave satisfied, My grandmother instilled this in me, therefore, I don’t see it as a job but as a hobby.”
She is happy that the Mercado has given her the opportunity to continue learning about entrepreneurship and hopes that in the future there will be more people who can participate in the Mercado.
